Intro to Preaching Workshop
The Pastor & Congregation Formation Committee is hosting an Introduction to Preaching Workshop.
This is for anyone who is considering doing Pulpit Supply Preaching or going even further and exploring becoming a Commissioned Pastor. Also, for those Elders, who are asked to cover the preaching on a Sunday when the pastor is on vacation or when the church is without a regular pastor.
The workshop will take place at the Presbytery office with morning and afternoon sessions. Lunch will be provided. There is no cost to participate in the workshop.
The Workshops will take place Saturday, September 28, October 5 and October 19. We will explore Reformed Theology and why it is important to the preacher and the people; Recommended resources; How to put together a sermon and preach it; as well as what not to do, among other things.
Once the workshops have been completed, you will prepare and preach a sermon and get helpful feedback. We are encouraging those who are commissioned to Pulpit Supply to attend as well as Commissioned Pastors. The workshop can be counted as continuing education which is required for some and at no cost.
Please contact the Presbytery office to register by
