It is with a real pleasure that I wish you the welcome on the site of the Presbytérienne Church in Rwanda. (E.P.R.)

The activities of the EPR go back to the years 1907, with the installations of the first stations German missionaries. They were sent by the German mission of Béthel. They initially settled with ZINGA in current Province of KIBUNGO from where they left to found the stations of Kirinda (KIBUYE) of Remera (GITARAMA) and Rubengera (KIBUYE). Until 1959, year of its independence.

The Presbytérienne Church was a Church missionary. Since then, it is directed by a series of synod, the synod general, at the national level, the regional synod on the level of the Area (District), and the council of Parish the basic body.

Currently, the EPR counts 92 Parishes and 47 Zones of evangelization left again in all the Provinces of the country. The mission of the EPR consists on the one hand with évangéliser by proclaiming the love and safety offered by God by his son Jesus-Christ and on the other hand to express this love of God through concrete actions.

“Thus Go from all the made nations of the disciples, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and the Saint Spirit their learning how to keep all that I prescribed you”, Math 28: 19.

With this intention, with with dimensions of the parishes installed in all even the most moved back corners of the country, the EPR undertook activities in social matter such as education (primary schools, secondary, vocational training…), establishment of the hospitals, centers of health, centers of formation and animation, rural development, and tourist reception centres.

In rural medium the parishes become currently the development poles having an important socio-economic impact. They thus hold account owing to the fact that a healthy heart must be in a healthy body. * I came so that the men have the life and that they have it in abundance * JN 10: 10.
