I am Rev. Boyd D. Edmondson and I serve as the pastor of the Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church in Sigel and also the Marienville Presbyterian Church. I have served as pastor of these churches since September 1998. I reside in Marienville with my wife, Shirley, and my son, Matthew (age 13). Our 18-year old daughter, Katie, recently passed away. Shirley is a guidance counselor for the Forest Area school district. I am a graduate of Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA and Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. I was ordained as a Minister of the Word and Sacrament by the Presbyterian Church (USA) on March 1, 1987. I have served as the pastor of the Presbyterian churches in Knox, West Sunbury, Hartstown, and Espyville; all in western Pennsylvania. Together with my wife, I also served for two years as the resident director of Westminster Highlands Camp in Emlenton; a 640 acre camp run in partnership by our presbytery and three other presbyteries. I was raised in Fredonia, New York. I enjoy the beauty of God's creation to the point that I love to garden, hike, camp, travel, take photographs and bicycle. I also enjoy capturing the beauty of God's world in paintings as a artist. In addition to these activities, I love to read, collect antiques, and spend time with my family and friends. As a Christian, learning of the power of the Holy Spirit has been revolutionary to my ministry. I am fascinated in particular by the healing power of faith. My continual quest is to become more Spirit led and to serve as an instrument of God's care in whatever situation I find myself. I felt extremely called by the Lord to participate in this Rwandan mission opportunity, although this will be an extremely new experience for me, unlike any other I have had yet in my life. |
