I am Fred Carrier, a recently retired forester who lives in Ridgway with my wife (Sally). We have four children (Jennifer, Rebecca, Deborah, and David) and are the proud grandparents of seven grandchildren.

Prior to retirement in October of 2003 I had a career in forestry. After a short appointment with the U.S. Forest Service I served as a forester, managing timberlands for Seneca Resources Corp. then as Operations Manger and General Manager for Highland Forest Resources (a sister  company of Seneca). My  career also included consulting work on forestry projects in Paraguay, Bolivia and Chile.

I am a member of Shiloh Presbyterian Church where I serve on the Mission Fulfillment Committee and enjoy singing in the choir.

Other church related activities have included teaching Sunday school, serving as a youth advisor, various local mission trips, and serving on session and  trustee boards.

I enjoy most outdoor activities but gardening is at the top of my list followed by bicycling and traveling. When I can’t get outside I enjoy creating woodworking projects in my dust filled workshop.

I’m looking forward to developing a relationship with our Rwandan brothers and sisters and opening my mind and heart to God’s will for me and his church in this new partnership.

I feel that God has given me a special blessing  in providing this opportunity to serve and learn along with Sally who has been a blessing and an inspiration to me for over forty years.
