Authorized Lay Preacher/Commissioned Lay Pastor Applications Being Accepted for Training Program
A new Authorized Lay Preacher (ALP)/Commissioned Lay Pastor (CLP) class will begin in the Fall of 2000. This 3 year training program is sponsored by the presbytery of Kiskiminetas in conjunction with 7 other presbyteries and Pittsburgh Theological Seminary.  Courses are held at Westminster College one Friday evening/all day Saturday per month in the fall and spring. Winter Term training is offered here in the presbytery.  The application deadline is June 1, 2000.

The letter introducing the process is here.  The full program, with application and supporting forms, is located in the online clp manual here. Contact Erin Cox-Holmes for further information.

Scholarships for Children, Youth, and Adults Available from the Presbytery

The presbytery believes in summer camp, youth "stretch" adventures, and adult enrichment! Understanding the value of these events and aware of the stretched financial resources of many families, the Presbytery of Kiskiminetas is pleased to be able to provide scholarships for children, youth, and adults to help enable members of the presbytery's churches to attend Presbyterian-related enrichment events. There's a wide range of qualifying events from Synod School, to Westminster Highland and Lambec, to Wee Kirk. The Presbytery Enrichment Scholarship Guidelines are available here.   Now you can apply online!

Presbytery Looking For Nominations

We've streamlined committees as much as we can. But there's no help for it! We need people to serve on committees to fulfill the vital functions of the presbytery.  Here is your Presbytery Committee Online Info Center. Included are descriptions of the various committees, meeting schedules, Online Committee Preference Form for Ministers and Church Members, Online Church Member Prospects for Presbytery and Churchwide Service (to be filled out by Clerks of Session and Pastors). Both of those can be filled out and submitted online.  There are also versions which can be printed and filled out the old-fashioned way, by hand.
