Proposed Amendments to be voted onGA 2002 in Columbus
The Kiski Contingent all arrived safely in Columbus. The Assembly got in full swing with the moving election of Fahed Abu-Akel as the new Moderator of the General Assembly and thanksgiving for the service of outgoing moderator Jack Rogers. Sunday featured the festival communion
service of worship, an afternoon mission fair and sabbath observance by
the General Assembly. On Tuesday Committee work concluded along with a host of breakfasts, luncheons and dinners as Commissioners prepared to emerge from individual committee work to the plenary sessions on Wednesday. Wednesday afternoon the Assembly reconvened to do the Work of the Assembly. On Thursday through Saturday morning the Assembly dealt with the complexities of Christology, late-term abortion, sexuality curriculum, among many other issues. The Assembly enthusiastically affirmed a paper titled "Hope in the Lord Jesus Christ" and a 40 million dollar Mission Initiative. Click on GA 214 News for all the news on GA 214
